PILOT KILLED AS BAF PLANE CRASHES IN TANGAIL
A pilot of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) was killed after a
training aircraft crashed in Madhupur of Tangail this afternoon.
The identity of the deceased was confirmed by Inter Services
Public Relations (ISPR) as Arif Ahmed Dipu, a wing commander of BAF.
He was flying an F7 BG fighter air craft, Muhammad Reza-Ul
Karim Shammee, assistant director of ISPR, told.
He was the only person aboard during the training session
when the plane crashed around 2:50 pm, the ISPR official said.
The deceased was commissioned in 1997. He had one son and
daughter.
The aircraft crashed into a forest inside Telki Firing Range
in Rasulpur during an air exercise and burst into flames, leaving the pilot
dead on the spot, UNB reports.
