550 ACRES OF LAND ALLOTTED TO SBSG CONSORTIUM IN MIRSHARAI

Consortium consisting of three industrial groups 'SBG Economic Zone' has allocated 550 acres of land in the Mirsarai Economic Zone - Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority - Beja.

Mahbubur Rahman, MD of Consortium at BEZA office and Emdadul Haque, executive member of BEZA, signed the final agreement on Tuesday.Sikder Group, Bashundhara Group and Gasman Limited have formed this consortium.

On behalf of BEZA, SBG Consortium has received 550 acres of land in Mirsharai Economic Zone -1 for a one time period of 40 crore rupees (50 years). Outside, four and half percent revenue sharing and service charge.

Mahbub Rahman, MD of the Consortium, said that the soil from this economic zone will start from January. They will establish this economic zone by utilizing the experience of establishing economic zones of Singapore-based company Sembcorp. Sembcorp has experienced the establishment of economic zones in different countries of the world.

He said that priority will be given to those who are interested in establishing an industrial estate with 20 acres of land from one acre.

Executive Chairman of BEZA’S Paban Chowdhury said, through a competitive process, on August 13, 2016, the primary consent was given to SBG Consortium. After passing different steps, they got the final allotment.


Paban Chowdhury said, "The goal of giving land measuring 30 cents per square meter for 50 years was due to the competition, due to the competition. But the land allotment was given at 45 cents per square meter. They have taken more land than our expectations. "

Paban Chowdhury said, the progress of the Mongla Economic Zone due to various obstacles to work on the basis of PPP has not come. However, the work experience is expected to yield better results in Mirsarai.

"There are two roads at a cost of Taka 42 crore. A power sub station has been made. 14 tubewells, water reservoirs as planned. BRAC Bank, Sonali Bank and Islami Bank have already come forward in the economic zone of Mirsharai. "


Bashundhara Group representative Naim Chowdhury, Shikder Group's MD Ron Haque Sikder and Gasman Group MD Mahbub Rahman attended the signing ceremony.
